The C8087 UPMIX is a DSP board fitting into the C8000 modular series.
It provides high quality automated Upmix from a stereo or mono source. The C8087 is ideally combined with the C8086 Level Magic Loudness Normalizer to achieve both Upmixing and Loudness control within the same frame.
Our UPMIX module works with a input format detector, which will permanently detect the type of input coming into targeted C8000 selected sources. If the C8087 detects stereo sources, an automatic 5.1 upmix will be performed. Similarly when a Mono track is being detected, then a permanent Upmix will be provided putting the mono source into C and L, R. If a valid 5.1 signal exists then an automatic cross fade between the Upmixing and the surround source is performed.
Core idea is to perform Upmix (from stereo or mono sources) until a valid 5.1 source is detected, guaranteeing permanent surround sensation for the viewer and preventing errors.
The module comes with 5 selectable Signatures factory basic settings covering most of the Broadcast industry needs in terms of Upmixing types. Furthermore 8 user presets for parameter recall allow customisation of ones parameters.
The Upmix Module works as most of Junger Audio’s modules in a very simple way, and is monitored and controlled via Web Interface.
